About the Event

The 23rd International Nondestructive Testing and Evaluation of Wood Symposium will be held in Campinas, SP, Brazil on September 17-21, 2024. This event will be co-hosted by the School of Agricultural Engineering (FEAGRI) of University of Campinas, the USDA Forest Service Forest Products Laboratory (FPL), the Forest Products Society (FPS), and the Brazilian Association on Nondestructive Testing and Inspection (ABENDI) and sponsored by the International Union of Forest Research Organization (IUFRO) Division 5. This symposium is a forum for those involved in nondestructive testing and evaluation (NDT/NDE) of wood and brings together many international researchers, users of various nondestructive testing technologies, equipment development and manufacturing professionals, representatives from various government agencies and other groups to share research findings and new nondestructive testing products and technologies. Networking among participants will encourage international collaborative efforts and foster the implementation of NDT/NDE technologies around the world.

Objectives

The objectives of this symposium are:

  1. To provide the international nondestructive testing and evaluation of wood research community a venue to present results from their latest research and technology transfer activities.

  2. To capture, through the technical sessions and the symposium’s proceedings, their findings and make them available to scientists and engineers from around the world.

Official Language

English is the official language of the Symposium and will be used for all printed materials and for all presentations.

History

The first Nondestructive Testing and Evaluation of Wood Symposium in this series was held at the USDA Forest Products Laboratory (FPL), Madison, WI, EUA in 1963. Subsequent symposia were held in the EUA until 1996. Since 1996, it has been held at various sites in Asia, Europe, South and North America. We are proud to welcome you to Quebec City for the 22th International Nondestructive Testing and Evaluation of Wood Symposium, hosted by the Renewable Materials Research Centre (CRMR), Université Laval (UL).
